Welcome to the Coolum Invitational 6's!

A new twist to cricket will be launched this summer with the inaugural Coolum Invitational 6's. This event will take place from the 19th to the 21st of November and will feature former Australian Cricketing legends!

What better way to prepare for this summer's Ashes clash by competing in this corporate tournament. This event offers a unique occasion to be involved with legends of the sporting arena as well as high-end corporations wishing to indulge in some R&R and networking opportunities.

This exclusive event will be held at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Coolum which offers some fantastic all inclusive packages. Only 16 companies will have the privilege to compete in this inaugural tournament and places have already been filled with Team Telstra the first team to enter.

Team entries are currently available but won’t last long. Only 16 teams will gain access to this year’s inaugural Invitational 6′s - and those that secure a spot this year will be given first right to enter in 2011.

Email info@invitational6s.com to make an enquiry or book your team spot now!

These are the words that Julia Gillard is asking Kevin Rudd.

Interesting question one would think to a man who has just run the country as a ‘one man team’, or so it would seem from some of the political commentary of the former labour regime.

The new CEO of the Melbourne Storm, Ron Gauci’s immediate task is to convince players, coaches, sponsors and supporters to continue to play on his team as the future will be better and brighter.

No doubt many readers will object to my bias in terms of the type of sports, and indeed, it is mainly male sport.

Nonetheless, if one can put aside this apparent bias, and just deal with some of the events that have been occurring through the cavalcade of stars, the cauldron of competition, and the myriad of incidents, good and not so good – there are some pretty interesting lessons we can take back to our business life or our life away from work. RICKY Ponting believes he will be sacked as Test skipper if Australia fails to regain the Ashes this summer.

Australia has not lost a home Ashes to England since Mike Gatting’s tourists won a remarkable series in 1986.

Ponting has already lost two Ashes as skipper – in England in 2005 and 2009 – and he is trying to avoid becoming the first Australian captain since Billy Murdoch in 1890 to lose three.

One big plus for national fitness levels has been companies encouraging their workforces to get active – often by organising team entries or even events of their own. But some health experts are concerned about whether companies are properly preparing their staff.

The founder of corporate health events management company CHEM, Emily Davies, has noticed a substantial rise in Australian companies encouraging employees to get involved in marathons and other corporate team building activities. She warns that while a team approach to fitness can boost morale and productivity, without the proper preparation there is a real risk of serious health problems arising.
